Looking at a place near Annapolis, because I am going to be in Maryland state politics for the near future at least. It is a simple thing really, my boss has gotten an appointment to a government office. Of course it is not as though he really wants to do the work involved. He wants to have the prestige of the position, which is basically all that he gets out of it. He wants me to do the work involved in it and he can afford to pay. They have Verizon fios in Maryland, but I am not finding a good place where they have it here. It is something that I have sort of gotten used to having it. Once you have downloaded movies at this sort of speed you really do not want to go back to what you had before. It is just incredibly convenient, especially if you like to use Netflix or any other streaming services like that.
You are not going to be able to go back, or at least happily after you have had this sort of internet. In particular I was paying a few dollars more before I switched to Verizon FIOS internet. It was not a big deal in price, but it cost me a bit less and the bandwidth was over twice as much. They only guarantee you 45 megabytes per second, but that is probably around three times what you would get on average from any other service I know about. If you are streaming movies on Netflix it is really great, because you have no lag at all. I know a lot of people who can not watch a youtube video on standard definition without getting that spin a rama thing. Obviously when you are paying 75 dollars a month you want to have it do youtube.
We were unloading pallets of product we received in our small warehouse by hand onto carts as soon as trucks unloaded the pallets. We had a small pallet jack we used to move the product on pallets from the truck to the warehouse floor. The room was about as big as a small commercial garage. It was a lot of work. Then I looked for forklifts for sale to make the job easier. We found a nicely priced propane powered forklift that was perfect for moving our pallets. We installed a shelf system to hold several pallets of product. Up until then, everything was flat on the floor because we had no way of lifting the pallets to stack them. This year was an exciting time for my family as my parents finally managed to open up a small chocolate factory in Louisville, KY. It’s always been their dream to own a chocolate bakery or factory for as long as I can remember. For a time they had their own bakery but for them, they were far more interested in producing delicious chocolate on a larger scale without having to incorporate it into a planned menu, although it was my favorite part of the job! On my first visit I got to check out some multihead weighers that they had invested in – I hadn’t heard of them until I walked through those doors.
In fact, I was surprised by the scale and sheer amount of industrial tools that they had bought for their small, two person operation. Continue reading “Opening a Chocolate Factory in Louisville” »
I just opened a new business last year, and I am worried that I am going to have a lot of trouble figuring out how to do the taxes. I actually, do not really have the slightest clue what I am doing, when it comes to filing taxes for a business. I did not even like to file my taxes, when I used to work for a company. It is going to be a lot more complicated now, and that is an issue. I want to find a accounting and tax firm that will be able to help me get through the process, and maybe explain some various things to me, that are relevant.
I am not sure why I have not looked into this sooner, because it is getting close to the time of year when I need to file my taxes, and not much has been done to work on them. That is really my fault, and it boils down to the fact that I have just been nervous and anxious about the taxes. Continue reading “Accounting and Tax Help for a New Business” »
Bandwidth in Denver
While there will be many cities vying for your conference or large corporate event, you should consider Denver. It is a unique city in the mountains, and is unparalleled for scenic beauty. It is also a spectacular location since it is in the middle of the country and only a few hours by plane for most of the country’s population.
After you’ve decided on locale and venue, you’ll need to consider internet access. Bandwidth is often taken for granted, since it is essentially capacity, rather than front and center like internet technology in the space itself. However, Trade Show Internet will provide both. They can supply not only internet technology, but they will also serve as a Denver bandwidth provider.
In fact, Trade show Internet provides services across the country, and specializes in providing internet for event-wide needs and for the individual participants, who may only need to browse and access email. Click here for quality event internet service!
French manufacturing contracted in July at the fastest pace this year in a sign that the euro area’s second-largest economy is struggling to gather pace.
A Purchasing Managers Index for the manufacturing industry fell to 47.6 from 48.2 in June, London-based Markit Economics said today. That’s the lowest since December 2013 and the third straight reading below 50, the mark that signals contraction. Economists had forecast a decrease to 48, according to aBloomberg News survey.
The French economy stagnatedin the first three months of this year, compared with a 0.2 percent expansion in the 18-nation euro area. Second-quarter gross-domestic-product data are due on Aug. 14, and will be a key element in the European Central Bank’s assessment of the state of the economy.
France’s PMI data “remain consistent with quarterly GDP close to stagnation levels as the economy continues to show little sign of turning around its recent sluggish performance,” said Jack Kennedy, senior economist at Markit. Weakness in the manufacturing industry “offset a small improvement in services,” he said.
A gauge of services activity rose to 50.4 from 48.2 in June, indicating growth for the first time in three months. A composite index of both services and manufacturing rose to 49.4 from 48.1.
Markit will release data for Germany, Europe’s biggest economy, at 9:30 a.m. Berlin time. Its report for the euro area is due at 10 a.m. Economists predict the currency bloc’s factory index will fall to 51.7 from 51.8, with the composite index unchanged at 52.8.

Agriculture Minister Suswono held an official ceremony in Jakarta on Thursday to mark the inaugural export of local products, including the famous ubi cilembu (sweet potato), to Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.
The Ubi Cilembu Agribusiness Pioneer Group (KAUCP) was ready to start exporting ubi cilembu to Hong Kong and Singapore next month and to Thailand in September, kompas.com reported on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Alamanda Farmers Group through CV Rian Karya will begin to export lucku bamboo products to Azerbaijan, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia in August.
In September, they plan to send the bamboo to the Netherlands and Turkey.
Suswono also certified CV Sumber Buah during the ceremony, allowing the company to export mangoes to Dubai in August.
The minister said that the exports were part of the government’s efforts to better promote Indonesian products in the international market.
During the ceremony, the 40 agribusiness groups that participate in the export program signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen their collaboration in improving their products, to increase their competitiveness in the global market.
The Sari Buah Tabanan group, for instance, is set to work with giant retailer PT Carrefour to develop its mangosteens. (nfo)
Net profit amounted to 412bn Korean won ($400m; £235m). That’s a 165% surge when compared to the same period last year, when it earned 156bn won.
The jump is mainly due strong mobile phone sales. LG sold a record 14.5 million smartphones in the second quarter, 20% more from one year ago.
LG’s mobile phone unit is profitable for the first time in a year.
LG attributes the turnaround to strong sales of its flagship G3 smartphone model, and cheaper L-series models which sold well in the North American market.
For the current quarter, LG says it expects “the smartphone market to grow continuously.”
But the company also warned “market competition will be intensified due to continuous launch of new models in premium segment and intensifying price competition as a result of the sales expansion from the mass market.”
Various industry research places LG as the world’s fifth-largest smartphone maker by sales. Its South Korean peer Samsung has overtaken Apple as the world’s top smartphone maker. Both Apple and Samsung phone models are more geared towards capturing consumers at the high-end market.
LG has been expanding its line-up of cheaper phones, as well as its high-end models, in order to capture a diverse market share.
Away from the smartphone division, LG’s home entertainment unit saw a 3% rise in sales when compared to the previous quarter. That is due to the launch of new television models.
The home appliance division saw an increase in sales at home, due to higher demand for energy-efficient washing machines. But overseas sales declined, due to competition in the North American market.

Google is to meet data regulators from across the European Union to discuss the implications of the recent “right to be forgotten” ruling.
An EU court ruled in May that links to “irrelevant” and outdated data should be erased from searches on request, leading to censorship concerns.
The decision, and Google‘s handling of requests, has been heavily debated.
The UK’s information commissioner said he expects a “tsunami” of complaints relating to links people want removed.
Speaking to Radio 5 Live’s Wake Up To Money, Christopher Graham said Google had a responsibility to deal with the issue.
“The polluter pays, the polluter should clear up,” he said.

If you are not careful it is easy to find a lot of difficulties in the ethics of marketing. For instance if you deal with a direct mail list broker you might find your own name and information on the list that he sells you. It is one thing to buy the names of some faceless potential buyer, perhaps you would see nothing ethically wrong with that and as you are in a position where you have to sell to survive that sort of thing takes a secondary place in the heart and the mind. Then when you realize this person is selling your name and you mailing address you do not quite feel as laissez faire about the entire thing. For me the big thing would be my gmail account. I could care less about my other email addresses in all honesty.
