HTG Discusses Hemorrhoid Treatment for College Students

HTG Discusses Hemorrhoid Treatment for College Students

(PRWEB) January 04, 2014

Though many associate hemorrhoids with a specific age group or lifestyle, the condition is not a discriminatory one, and can affect people of all ages and lifestyles. To corroborate this, Hemorrhoid Treatment Group discussed hemorrhoid treatment options for college students, bearing the January 2nd Boston Globe article titled “Insurance Costs to Fall for Many Students” in mind. The article revealed the increasing likelihood of healthcare costs dropping for students, citing Massachusetts among the leader in developing more affordable healthcare options for young students unable to remain on their parents’ healthcare plans.

In the Boston Globe article, Marcella Bombardieri discussed Massachusetts healthcare for college students, revealing the measures being taken to ensure that students are able to receive affordable healthcare. Though the issue had long been plaguing Massachusetts, it wasn’t until students were revealed to have been dropping out of school due to high healthcare costs that the state began to pay attention to student needs, and began taking measures to allow students to find affordable healthcare while remaining in school.

College students, though many are in their teens and twenties, are not exempt from worry over contracting hemorrhoids—largely due to poor diets and high stress levels. Hemorrhoid Treatment Group encouraged college students suspected of having hemorrhoids (including any students experiencing pain or blood during bowel movements, and heat or swelling on or around the rectum) to consider their healthcare options. This may include using a parent’s insurance policy if under the age of 26, for some. For others who may be living out of state or unable to qualify for their parents’ health insurance, there are often university-based healthcare coverage plans. These are generally aimed toward students with little to no money, and are often affordable or offered at no cost. For all others, a private or public health insurance plan may be an option. As healthcare regulations change and alterations take effect in 2014, students may qualify for low-premium coverage, allowing students to find affordable, effective hemorrhoid treatment.

Marcella Bombardieri is a Boston Globe reporter. Her work is limited to higher education, providing news reports for higher education institutions and state and federal regulations as they relate to students. She has worked for the Boston Globe since 1999 as a staff correspondent.

Hemorrhoid Treatment Group encourages college students to seek insurance options when in need of hemorrhoid treatment. These options range in both coverage and ease of use, and may include a parent’s insurance, or university-based coverage. Though many college students fail to recognize their propensity for illness or health complications, securing a reliable healthcare plan is an essential aspect of transitioning into adulthood. For those in need of surgical or medical hemorrhoid treatment, health insurance is pivotal.

About HemorrhoidTreatmentGroup.com:

HemorrhoidTreatmentGroup.com is an up-and-coming site devoted to providing readers with the latest in news and advice regarding hemorrhoids, including symptoms, home remedies, treatment options, and insurance needs.

Filter of Hope Distributes 5,340 Water Filters in 30 Countries in 2013

Filter of Hope Distributes 5,340 Water Filters in 30 Countries in 2013

Filter of Hope Filter

Panama City Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

During this holiday season, Filter of Hope is asking everyone to remember the families and individuals in developing countries who have no access or easy access to clean, safe drinking water. For a very affordable donation ($ 40), anyone can purchase a Filter of Hope to give to a family or individual in desperate need.

A BANNER YEAR

2013 was a banner year for Filter of Hope as 5,340 portable water filters were distributed and installed in over 30 countries providing up to 150 gallons a day of clean, safe water for thousands of people living in some of the harshest conditions on the planet. That adds up to over 291 million gallons of clean water every year for these families.

At the beginning of 2013, Filter of Hope had water filters in use in only two countries: the Dominican Republic and Haiti. In less than 12 months, the organization had filters in 30 developing countries around the world.

This unprecedented growth is due to Filter of Hope’s new partnerships with Convoy of Hope, Samaritan’s Purse, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, and other organizations. These non-profits already have “boots on the ground” providing aid and assistance in these countries and are now distributing the Filter of Hope water filters. These organizations are in combined 100-plus countries, so Filter of Hope looks to be expanding even more in 2014.

Not only providing much needed distribution, these strategic partnerships also mean that Filter of Hope no longer needs to be directly involved with the installation of filters. They can instead use the time and money saved on getting more filters into families’ homes worldwide.

ONLINE GIVING

Another key factor in Filter of Hope’s growth was a strong push into building a dynamic online presence. The launching of http://www.filterofhope.org along with Social Media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube helped get the word out to the general public and allowed individuals to purchase filters for distribution.

The new web site is incredibly simple to navigate while providing a wealth of information about Filter of Hope, the global water crisis, and how individuals, businesses, and organizations can partner with the non-profit to provide clean water for families in developing countries.

Online donations are simple and easy to make (filterofhope.org/give) for anyone wanting to provide for a family who has no access to clean, safe water. Individuals may give any amount as either a one-time or recurring donation using the site’s safe, encrypted payment system.

PROGRESS REPORT

Also in the past year, Filter of Hope has followed up with families in Haiti and the Dominican Republic who have been using the water filters for years. They have learned that the filters are all still working properly and have dramatically changed these families’ lives. These families have also reported that their children are sick less frequently and that the school age children no longer miss school due to water related illnesses. Thanks to the availability of clean, safe water, the adults are also healthier and able to work and provide for their families.

ABOUT FILTER OF HOPE

Filter of Hope is a 501(c)3 non-profit based out of Panama City Beach, Fla. that works with individuals, organizations, schools, churches, corporations and foundations to help raise awareness and funding for their amazing point of use water filters that remove the harmful bacteria from water that kills millions of people each year.

Filter Of Hope believes clean water is a basic human right that must be met in order to help families break the cycle of poverty. They are dedicated to ending this cycle of poverty one community at a time, one family at a time.

Clean water creates healthy bodies, relieves suffering, opens the door of education to children and allows parents to seek jobs to provide for their families. In short, clean water gives hope!

ERASE Racism Receives Funding for Strategic Outreach Campaign for Fair Housing

ERASE Racism Receives Funding for Strategic Outreach Campaign for Fair Housing

ERASE Racism

(PRWEB) December 24, 2013

ERASE Racism has received a $ 20,000 grant from the Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund to hire a Long Island Organizer (“Organizer”). The Organizer will assist in devising and implementing local campaigns to advance fair housing including: developing and executing an outreach strategy; developing new alliances to link grassroots groups with broader policy issues; and ensuring that people of color are being adequately served by organizations providing Hurricane Sandy relief services. The organizer will also strengthen relationships with other nonprofit organizations and coalitions that share ERASE Racism’s mission.

This grant will allow ERASE Racism to deepen its relationship with individuals who have signed on as Partners for Racial Equity. “We know that our Partners support the mission of expanding housing opportunities to those who have been systematically denied equal access to housing in communities of high opportunity. We also know that some Long Islanders believe that racially integrated housing and public schools are not something to be feared but to be embraced, says Elaine Gross, President of ERASE Racism. This new position will connect people who want to make a difference with concrete ways to lend a hand to local and regional projects. “Increasing racial equity will only become a reality if many people and organizations join together to bring about change”, Ms. Gross concluded.

About ERASE Racism: ERASE Racism is a regional organization that leads public policy advocacy campaigns and related programmatic initiatives to promote racial equity in areas such as housing, public school education and healthcare. It engages in a variety of research, education and consulting activities to identify and address institutional and structural racism, primarily on Long Island.

About Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund: LIUUF is a field-of-interest fund at the Long Island Community Foundation that promotes progressive social change. The fund was established by the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock. The Medical Marketing Group Is Suing iMatrix for Alleged Promissory Fraud and Breach of Agreement

The Medical Marketing Group Is Suing iMatrix for Alleged Promissory Fraud and Breach of Agreement

Beverly Hills, California (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

Yesterday, Aaron D. Aftergood, lawyer for The Medical Marketing Group, filed a complaint for damages against Internet Matrix, Inc. (also known as iMatrix) for breach of partnership agreement and promissory fraud with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles at the Santa Monica Courthouse (Case Number SC121824). The filling also mentioned Asaf Benhaim, Cofounder& CEO, Michael Massey, CFO, and Ryan Peterson, VP of Business Operations. The Medical Marketing Group is requesting a trial by jury for the alleged consequential and compensatory damages along with punitive and exemplary damages

The day after The Medical Marketing Group provided iMatrix with all the content for the launch of the plastic surgery vertical, iMatrix notified The Medical Marketing Group that there would be no partnership because, according to the complaint, “iMatrix agreed to a merger and/or buyout which iMatrix kept secret from The Medical Marketing Group.”

Marc Belanger, CEO and founder of The Medical Marketing Group stated, “Our team was very excited about this new partnership with iMatrix. We spent days at the iMatrix corporate office in San Diego sharing with iMatrix our insights on the plastic surgery vertical and one day after we delivered our work product for this new program and less than 35 days prior to the launch date established by iMatrix, we were told by iMatrix that the deal was off. It was a difficult announcement to my team, especially right at the end of December. My team has worked so hard and I am so proud of them. My partners and I are sorely disappointed by the change of direction by iMatrix and their unresponsiveness to our communications. Our company has been irrevocably harmed by this breach.”

Aaron Aftergood, lawyer for The Medical Marketing Group says, “We are prepared to show the court that my client lost millions of dollars as a result of iMatrix’s actions. We are seeking fair compensation and punitive damages.”

The Medical Marketing Group of Beverly Hills, California offers a broad range of medical marketing services – from public relations to web design, and social media to direct response – to doctors’ offices, medical centers, hospitals and other healthcare providers.

Based in Beverly Hills, The Aftergood Law Firm provides representation for businesses and individuals throughout Southern California and nationwide. Aaron Aftergood is known for aggressively litigating all types of civil disputes in both state and federal courts.

Don?t Spend Your Day on Hold: Attorney Jack Garson Offers Tips for Fixing Problems and Getting the Help You Need

Don’t Spend Your Day on Hold: Attorney Jack Garson Offers Tips for Fixing Problems and Getting the Help You Need

Jack Garson, Founder of Garson | Claxton LLC

Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

When Target’s credit card system was hacked, millions of people were left holding the (red and white) bag. And imagine how the passengers on the 950 flights that American Airlines cancelled during the week of Thanksgiving felt. We’ve all had a Murphy’s Law kind of day. Just when you’re at your busiest, something goes awry. It can take on many frustrating forms – a broken Internet connection, a cancelled flight, a lost insurance card at the pharmacy – and rarely, if ever, do these problems hit at a time that you have hours to spend resolving them.

In his latest Huffington Post article, “Don’t Take ‘No’ for an Answer: Tips for Going Straight to the Top to Resolve Problems,” attorney and author Jack Garson provides a list of tactics to use when you need answers fast. Garson is no stranger to “battling a behemoth,” as he calls it. His own law firm’s phone lines went down at a very inconvenient time (is there ever a good time to lose your phone lines?) and the fact that they had paid their bill on time meant nothing to the phone company. It wasn’t until Garson took his problem up the ranks of the phone company and enlisted the help of an elected official that their lines were restored.

Persistence and a little leverage can go a long way, as Garson explains:

Go to the top of the organization. If you’re not getting the answers you want, ask for a supervisor. If they won’t connect you, do a little research and call the head honcho.
Sometimes it’s helpful to mention bringing the problem to an elected or law enforcement official. This usually helps get the ball rolling.
Find out where the company is the most vulnerable. It might take some digging, but if you can uncover and mention an area where the company feels insecure, they might be more willing to talk to you.
Feel like you’re in over your head? Hire an expert. If the IRS is looking for you, an experienced accountant should be in your corner. If it’s a legal matter, find a good lawyer. Let the expert represent you and your interests.

No matter how angry or inconvenienced you are, Garson points out that anger or public humiliation is rarely the solution to a problem. Complaining for the world to hear might make you feel better, but it could also lead to a defamation suit, so be careful with what you publish publicly.

The bottom line? Sometimes David beats Goliath (or, for some lucky people, Target), but it takes some patience and a cool head.

You can read Jack Garson’s entire article “Don’t Take “No” for an Answer: Tips for Going Straight to the Top to Resolve Problems” in the Huffington Post.

As Tylenol Lawsuits Mount, Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes New Study Finding that Acetaminophen Combined With Alcohol May Increase Risk for Kidney Damage

As Tylenol Lawsuits Mount, Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes New Study Finding that Acetaminophen Combined With Alcohol May Increase Risk for Kidney Damage

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 25, 2013

As Tylenol lawsuits (http://www.tylenollawsuitclaims.com/) continue to mount in courts around the country, Bernstein Liebhard LLP notes that a new study has found that taking acetaminophen in combination with even small amounts of alcohol may be associated with an increased risk for kidney damage. According to a report from HealthDay News, the study, which was presented last month at the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting in Boston, looked at data from more than 10,000 people who had been surveyed about their alcohol consumption, use of acetaminophen and health problems. Almost half of the respondents who reported combining acetaminophen with alcohol also reported kidney dysfunction. *

“Dozens of lawsuits are now pending in federal court that allege a link between the use of Tylenol and liver damage. This study is just a further reminder that the acetaminophen in these over-the-counter medications can often be associated with very serious side effects,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is offering free legal reviews to individuals who may have suffered liver damage resulting in hospitalization, liver transplantation, or death, allegedly associated with the use of a Tylenol-brand medication.

Tylenol and Liver Damage

According to court documents, at least 100 Tylenol lawsuits alleging acetaminophen can cause liver damage, even when taken as directed, are currently pending in a multidistrict litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. All of these lawsuits similarly allege that Johnson & Johnson failed to provide consumers with adequate warnings about the potential effects of acetaminophen use on the liver, including liver failure and the need for a liver transplant. (In Re: Tylenol (Acetaminophen) Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2436)

According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), acetaminophen was the leading cause of acute liver failure in the U.S. between 1998 and 2003. From 1990 to 1998, acetaminophen was blamed for 56,000 emergency room visits, 26,000 hospitalizations, and 458 deaths annually. Two years ago, the FDA reduced the amount of acetaminophen that prescription drugs can contain to 325 milligrams per two pills. **

Johnson & Johnson announced over the summer it was adding more prominent, red-lettered warnings to the labels of Tylenol products regarding the potential for severe liver damage. According to a report from Bloomberg.com, Extra Strength Tylenol – which contains 500 milligrams of acetaminophen per tablet – was to appear with the warnings in October. The modified labels will begin appearing on other Tylenol-brand medications in the coming months.***

Individuals who suffered acetaminophen-induced liver damage resulting in hospitalization, liver transplantation or death allegedly associated with a Tylenol product may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses and other injury-related damages.
