LG’s profit Increased in 2nd Quarter

Net profit amounted to 412bn Korean won ($400m; £235m). That’s a 165% surge when compared to the same period last year, when it earned 156bn won.

The jump is mainly due strong mobile phone sales. LG sold a record 14.5 million smartphones in the second quarter, 20% more from one year ago.

LGGflex

LG’s mobile phone unit is profitable for the first time in a year.

LG attributes the turnaround to strong sales of its flagship G3 smartphone model, and cheaper L-series models which sold well in the North American market.

For the current quarter, LG says it expects “the smartphone market to grow continuously.”

But the company also warned “market competition will be intensified due to continuous launch of new models in premium segment and intensifying price competition as a result of the sales expansion from the mass market.”

More phones

Various industry research places LG as the world’s fifth-largest smartphone maker by sales. Its South Korean peer Samsung has overtaken Apple as the world’s top smartphone maker. Both Apple and Samsung phone models are more geared towards capturing consumers at the high-end market.

LG has been expanding its line-up of cheaper phones, as well as its high-end models, in order to capture a diverse market share.

Away from the smartphone division, LG’s home entertainment unit saw a 3% rise in sales when compared to the previous quarter. That is due to the launch of new television models.

The home appliance division saw an increase in sales at home, due to higher demand for energy-efficient washing machines. But overseas sales declined, due to competition in the North American market.

Representative Rakestraw Braddock Reviews Technology in Georgia

Representative Rakestraw Braddock Reviews Technology in Georgia

L-R: Jeff McCord, GTA Director of Intergovernmental Relations, Calvin Rhodes, GTA Chief Information Officer, State Representative Paulette Rakestraw Braddock (R-HD19), Steve Nichols, GTA Chief Technol

Hiram, GA –

(PRWEB) December 23, 2013 — Representative Paulette Rakestraw Braddock (R-HD19) spent the day with the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA), reviewing the state’s technology infrastructure and information and plans for efficiency and security of public data housed in Georgia. Rep. Rakestraw Braddock was appointed by Speaker David Ralston to the Georgia Technology Authority Oversight Committee last year to review the state’s infrastructure and technology systems.

Calvin Rhodes, chief information officer for Georgia, led the meeting, held at the GTA offices. Joe Webb, deputy executive director of the GTA, Steve Nichols, chief technology officer, Tom Fruman, senior enterprise governance and planning officer, and Jeff McCord, director of intergovernmental relations, were there to present information to Rep. Rakestraw Braddock and to answer questions.

Throughout the state budget cuts, Georgia has centralized its technology infrastructure, information systems, data management, security, and telephony systems to streamline government services and make them more robust and cost effective. The GTA provided Rep. Rakestraw Braddock with a status report on the implementation timeline, identifying which agencies have been centralized already and the measurable results of that effort in terms of efficiencies gained.

The Georgia Enterprise Technology Services (GETS) division has worked to modernize the state’s information technology (IT) infrastructure to allow better management of IT resources, so that government can meet its service obligations to Georgia’s citizens. It has a predictable spend, better security, and a robust disaster recovery system for emergencies. A centralized effort has also enabled GETS to replace an aging IT infrastructure more cost effectively than would have been possible with the compartmentalized, multi-departmental approach that previously existed.

The Georgia Technology Authority is a state authority that is self-funded through data sales and administrative fees and has public/private partnerships with outside companies to provide centralized information systems efficiently and cost effectively throughout the state. The GTA manages the state’s central IT infrastructure, data center, security, network, and telecommunication services. The vision statement of the GTA is, “To provide exemplary customer service; to enable business solutions for Georgia’s state government; to lead change for Georgia’s state government.”

Rep. Rakestraw Braddock commented, “The centralization of our State’s IT infrastructure was a huge undertaking, but it has helped our state be more efficient, cost effective, and secure —things I believe every tax-paying citizen seeks from their government. I am honored to serve on this oversight committee, looking at how our state can be more efficient in the technology realm.”

Rep. Rakestraw Braddock, Paulding County’s first female legislator, represents the citizens of District 19 in Paulding County. She was elected to the House of Representatives as the Vice Chair for the Science and Technology committee and serves on the Special Committee for Small Business and Job Creation, Special Rules, Juvenile Justice, and Economic Development Committees.

The ACN Reviews Are In: Direct Selling Powerhouse?s Events Provide Best-of-Best Training While Leaving Lasting Impression on Host Cities

The ACN Reviews Are In: Direct Selling Powerhouse’s Events Provide Best-of-Best Training While Leaving Lasting Impression on Host Cities

ACN is the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy, and other essential services.

Concord, North Carolina (PRWEB) December 23, 2013

ACN Inc, the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and other essential services hosted its International Training Event in San Jose, California, December 6-8, and what would be the final celebration of the company’s 20th Anniversary year. The event drew tens of thousands of Independent Business Owners from many of the company’s 23 countries for three days of training, motivation and networking opportunities, as well as featured special guests multi-billionaire Donald J. Trump and Publisher of SUCCESS Magazine Darren Hardy.

But the impact of this event left an even greater impact on the city of San Jose and surrounding areas. With hotels and restaurants packed, city officials estimate ACN events bring millions into the local economy in just three days time.

And while impacting the local economy is certainly icing on the cake for this company, it’s the children and the clown that are the heart and soul of ACN.

During the San Jose event, and at each of ACN’s events worldwide, the company collects donations for the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House and then matches those donations dollar for dollar, presenting a check at the close of the event.

“At ACN, giving back is all part of who we are – it’s in our DNA,” said ACN Vice President and Co-Founder Robert Stevanovski “We believe that we have a corporate responsibility to leave these communities a little better off than when we arrived.”

The San Jose event provided an opportunity for ACN to have double the impact, as they raised funds for the Ronald McDonald Houses of Stanford and San Francisco. On Sunday, December 8, just as the event was coming to a close, ACN presented a check to the Houses in the amount of $ 101,592.34.

“Because of ACN’s generosity, the 47 families that we host at the Stanford house each night will feel a lot more love,” said Annette Eros, CEO of the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford.

ACN’s next large-scale event will be held in Charlotte, NC, February 14-16.

Red Ten NYC Highlight 3 Marketing Trends to Watch in 2014

Red Ten NYC Highlight 3 Marketing Trends to Watch in 2014

New York City, New York (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

Red Ten NYC is New York’s leading outsourced sales and marketing agency. Specializing in direct marketing, Red Ten NYC provide a cost-effective route to market for clients operating within the financial services, telecommunications, fundraising, entertainment and home improvement sectors. As the firm make their final business plan preparations for 2014, Red Ten NYC highlight three key marketing trends which they expect to see prosper in the New Year.

About Red Ten NYC: http://www.redtennyc.com/about-us/

1.Complex Decision Making by Conflicted Consumers

As economic pressures continue to take their toll, Red Ten NYC highlight that not all consumers will react to the pinch of the recession in a rational way. Red Ten NYC remind marketers that consumers will still invest in small indulgences. This is often referred to as the ‘lipstick effect’ whereby lipstick sales soar during a recession as consumers still want to enjoy the small pleasures (marketingmagazine.co.uk). In the New Year Red Ten NYC expect consumers will require the opportunity to change their minds from brands, and will not want to be restricted or tied down to long-term contracts. Red Ten NYC express that marketing for decision changing consumers in 2014 will not be an easy feat, however, marketers must take in consideration that consumers do not want to commit to long-term contracts.

2.Demand for Personalized Marketing Campaigns

Following the vast amount of research into predictive behavior models this year, Red Ten NYC claim that the use of data-based customer insights into the channels a customer prefers and what impacts a customer will be taken into greater consideration by marketers. (dmnews.com) By personalizing marketing campaigns directly to the consumers’ needs, Red Ten NYC confirm it will bring a higher success rate.

3.SME Boom – More Support of Local Enterprises

Entrepreneurs and small business owners in America are campaigning to make ‘2014 The Year of Small Business’ (thehuffingtonpost.com). Red Ten NYC will join fellow business owners in 2014 across America to promote small business growth, and contribute to the country’s steadily recovering economy. With a surge of SME optimism for 2014, Red Ten NYC predict that the country will see more support for local enterprises and collectively engage in job creation with small businesses.

Red Ten NYC is an outsourced sales and marketing firm in New York. The firm are excited for 2014, and are looking forward to seeing the transition and effectiveness of these key marketing trends in the upcoming months.

Announcing an Easy to Qualify, Small Business Loan Resource for Independent Retailers Which Doesn?t Require Collateral, Courtesy of Business Cash Advance Guru

Announcing an Easy to Qualify, Small Business Loan Resource for Independent Retailers Which Doesn’t Require Collateral, Courtesy of Business Cash Advance Guru

http://www.businesscashadvanceguru.com

Nationwide (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

Introducing a small business loan resource, that gets money to companies outside retail chains without requiring a credit record report or a collateral commitment from the applicant, Business Cash Advance Guru.

Companies can access fast loans for small businesses at competitive rates, starting at only 1.9 percent without having to disclose their assets and liabilities or provide financial documentation in order to qualify. Big banks are not lending to small companies, curtailing their capital funding enormously since the onset of the Great Recession.

“Banks still aren’t lending to small businesses as they did before the financial crisis. In a recent survey, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York discovered one potential explanation: Small-business owners are so discouraged that they’ve all but given up their search for bank loans. According to a New York Fed poll, 59 percent of small businesses in the New York metro area did not apply for financing in the past year. Of these, nearly 50 percent did not apply because they did not think they would get approved. Overall, 58 percent of respondents said they were discouraged, and 48 percent of those owners cited access to capital as their largest growth barrier,” Inc.com reports.

A wave of new federal banking regulations has gripped an industry reeling from hundreds of millions of dollars in defaulted mortgages and small business loans. To get small business loans fast, companies are turning to alternative lenders to get the funding necessary to compete, or make opportunistic buys.

“Business Cash Advance Guru makes obtaining financing approval as fast and as simple as completing a credit card application. The goal of providing access to quickly and easily to small businesses across the country are realized through the alternative lender’s release of it’s proprietary commercial funding system.”

Independent retailers can find the funds they need by filling out a simple online form. There are no credit requirements or collateral needed to qualify. Payments are based on a percentage of the loan rather than a fixed amount, making installments flexible during slow sales months.

The company’s approval rate is 98 percent, and approvals are given in 24 hours, with funds directly deposited in a week. Funds can be used for any purpose and businesses can qualify for $ 5,000 and $ 500,000.

Business Cash Advance Guru.com expanded nationwide services are now available in the following geographical areas:

3D Printing Materials Industry (Plastics, Metals & Ceramics) 2018 Forecasts in New Research Report at RnRMarketResearch.com

3D Printing Materials Industry (Plastics, Metals & Ceramics) 2018 Forecasts in New Research Report at RnRMarketResearch.com

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

The method to print an object layer by layer to create a three-dimensional object from a digital file with the use of a material is called 3D printing and the materials used are called 3D printing materials. The material used plays the key role in any 3D printing technology as 3D printed objects have the ability to be used practically. With the latest technologies and innovative materials, 3D printing technology has become a global revolution. This revolutionary market has the ability to manufacture objects that are used in industrial, commercial, medical, and several other industries. The type of materials can be classified into plastics, metals, ceramics, and others. Each material has its individual access in various industries with respective features and applications.

Complete report is available at http://www.rnrmarketresearch.com/3d-printing-materials-market-by-plastics-abs-pla-nylon-others-by-metals-steel-titanium-gold-others-by-ceramics-silica-glass-others-by-others-laywood-others-by-forms-by-end-u-market-report.html.

Plastics are in high demand, especially ABS and PLA. Plastics are the major 3D printing materials, as they are durable and flexible materials that are available in the market with a wide range of colors. With the invention of home 3D printers that uses plastic filaments to 3D print any object, the demand for these materials has grown aggressively and is expected to continue in the next five years. 3D printing, with their ability to manufacture any three dimensional object with a simple design and setup equipment brought about an awareness among people to design and manufacture their own products, instead of depending on online purchases, where the choice is limited and the customer has to compromise with the available designs. Metals are the strongest materials available in the market, but are extremely expensive. Metals include steel, titanium, aluminum, copper, silver, gold, nickel, cobalt, etc. Metal 3D printing is a costly method as the metal printers use laser methods to manufacture any objects. Hence, metal materials are limited to high-end applications. Ceramics and Others are affordable materials that will garner a high demand in future.

The demand for 3D printing materials is influenced by the growing awareness of the ability to manufacture objects with the use of 3D printing technology where a simple CAD design and 3D printer are necessary. 3DP materials are printer specific and are available universally. There are wide ranges of materials that can print plastic toys to metal guns, dental crowns to human heart, automotive parts to satellite parts, car to aero jets, and so on. The 3DP materials can be in the form of filaments, powders, and liquids, based on the end-user interest. Generally, plastics come in the form of filaments and metals come in the form of powders. Metal powders too costly and are used in high-end applications, whereas plastics are available in different prices that range from low to high and are mostly used in consumer 3D printing. Currently, 3DP materials are mainly concentrated in North America, APAC, and Europe. The APAC and North American markets are expected to grow at a higher rate in future.

The 3D printing materials market is moderately fragmented, where 3D Systems Inc. (U.S.), Stratasys Ltd. (U.S.); Arcam AB (Sweden); and ExOne Gmbh (Germany) captured about 75.0% of the market share in production and supply. The companies in this market need to compete with each other with respect to prices and a wide product range with an advanced technology in order to meet the market requirements.

The report analyzes the 3D printing materials market in various applications and covers the market demand with respective regions. The report also provides a market overview for the 3D printing material market.
