Marketing Firm for Plastic Surgeons Will Connect Surgeons to Their Local Community in New Way, According to CEO Craig Stephens.

President to Marketing Specialist for Plastic Surgeons

Key Largo, FL (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

Marketing Specialists for Plastic Surgeons, a Florida-based marketing group, has said it will increase local interest in surgeons through a unique, alternative means of marketing — namely a contest. Craig Stephens, founder and CEO of Marketing Specialists for Plastic Surgeons, is hoping to give surgeons more options regarding how they market their practices.

“Using a contest solely for plastic surgeons has not been done before,” said Stephens. “Something as simple as a competition among potential patients will allow surgeons to better connect with their local markets. It allows the doctor to collect information which can be repurposed to promote a surgeon’s character and humanity.”

Stephens says that the tactics employed are known as Blue Ocean strategies — a character building approach that can drastically improve practice relevance in the community within just a few months. The results, Stephens adds, are far superior to anything that a generic marketing can provide.

“The data collected will be rolled-over to enhance the doctor’s credibility. The reason why these strategies work is because people respond more to expertise than price.” said Stephens. “Expertise in a certain procedure is always supported by patient testimonials from respected sources, and these carry more weight than price-driven ‘me too’ special offers. When someone is considering a cosmetic procedure, most understand that a bargain may not be such a good idea if the quality isn’t there. Patients are much happier dealing with the best than the cheapest when it comes to these kinds of services.”

“By improving community involvement and showing that a doctor cares, the newly-branded “expert” can radically improve the practice’s productivity, not just in the quantity of patients, but the quality,” added Stephens. “Most clients use reviews and testimonials today to aide in selection of products and services.”

The novel part of the local campaign that Stephens is undertaking is the contest, which offers a free surgery procedure to the person who tells the most engaging and compassionate story about why they want or need the procedure performed. The contest is open to all, and ends when 500 unique applications have been received. According to Stephens, surgeons will use this information as a way to gather insight into the thoughts of “non-customers,”which is the name given to people that want a procedure but haven’t had it performed due to cost or other worries.

Retirement Community Residents Find Purpose During the Holidays

Retirement Community Residents Find Purpose During the Holidays

Resident Ginger Cranford at Gifts from the Heart tree

Thomasville, NC (PRWEB) December 22, 2013

Many residents at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community in Thomasville, NC see the holiday season as a time to spread cheer and help those in need.

Residents of the Piedmont Crossing Village Association decided earlier in the year they wanted to do several projects to help those in need this holiday season. When they were considering which projects to undertake, they felt that helping those financially in need was as equally important as helping those emotionally in need. The residents also wanted their gifts to stay local.

Gathered in a kitchen at the retirement community, residents made a variety of sandwiches to deliver to Cooperative Community Ministry (CCM), an organization that helps Thomasville area citizens with health, food, housing and clothing needs. Residents at Piedmont Crossing also donated non-perishable food items to the Fairgrove Family Resource Center (FGFRC). The primary focus of FGFRC is to provide supportive and direct services to children and families living in the City of Thomasville and Eastern Davidson County. Their website gives a startling statistic that one in every three children and one in every seven adults suffer from hunger every day in Davidson County.

In early December, a small tree with paper hearts stood in the lobby of Piedmont Crossing. Those hearts held names of children in Thomasville whose families have fallen on hard times and are unable to provide clothing and toys for them at Christmas, a project also provided by FGFRC called Gifts from the Heart. Ginger Cranford, a resident at Piedmont Crossing, stated “It’s amazing to see this tree full of hearts and within a week or so the hearts are gone. Staff and residents look forward to buying for these children so that they, too, can have a merry Christmas.”

Residents in Piedmont Crossing’s Village also felt compelled this year to help their own. In early December, a small tree was placed in a common space area on the campus of the retirement community. The tree originally held names of residents, most of which live in the Parkway Health Center at Piedmont Crossing. The residents names that were placed on the tree were those that will have few to no visitors during the holiday season. In a short time, each name was removed from the tree. Bobbie Hunter, a Village resident at Piedmont Crossing, said “The holidays can be a tough time for some. With this project, I’m able to give my time to help someone that may not otherwise have family or friends to visit them. It not only brightens their day, but it brightens mine as well. In my opinion, putting smiles on others faces is what the holiday season is all about.”

Piedmont Crossing Executive Director Doug Russell shared, “Our residents are an important asset to the greater community. They enjoy giving back and sharing their resources and gifts. These gifts, in return, give Piedmont Crossing residents purpose-filled lives. A feeling of usefulness, worthiness and enhanced esteem is priceless.”

Piedmont Crossing, a not-for-profit retirement community located on 61 beautiful acres in Thomasville, NC offers casual, comfortable cottages, town homes, and apartments as well as a variety of services. Small Towns Westville and Brooklawn NJ have Big Results in joining the Reuse Movement with Community Recycling

Small Towns Westville and Brooklawn NJ have Big Results in joining the Reuse Movement with Community Recycling

Nationwide, USA (PRWEB) December 17, 2013

What does it take to make a great idea like curbside clothing recycling take root and mobilize? Press and social media help, but what is THE answer? People. At the end of the day, it’s not about tweeting or liking, it’s about the people – and the strong sense of civic pride that started decades ago with traditional curbside recycling. It’s the residents of both boroughs in New Jersey NJ who believe that clothing recycling is the right thing to do. Donna Domico, Public Works director for the Borough of Westville and and Superintendent of Public works for the Borough of Brooklawn, has been a social change ambassador who is making clothing recycling happen with great results. Partnering with Community Recycling, they have come up with ways to reduce the waste stream and support the mission of People Recycling for People.

“Our community has been recycling traditional recyclables for over thirty years. It was not a hard sell to get these towns on board, doing the right thing and recycling with reuse in mind,” Domico said. “This program is not only smart from a financial perspective, but it is one that will help people all over the world.”

Community Recycling began working with Westville for curbside collection on Earth Day of 2012. Prior, both Boroughs were taking part in the CR Bins program, where collection bins were placed for convenient drop off of clothes, shoes, bags and belts. The residents of both small towns have been able to masterfully see the vision proposed by Domico and bring great success to their towns. They understand that building communities here, helps to build communities elsewhere. It comes to people power.

In a few short months, 12,746 pounds of clothing, over 6 tons, have been recycled with reuse in mind in the Borough of Westville; with just one pickup, the Borough of Brooklawn has collected 3,642 pounds of clothing. These numbers translate into significant savings in incinerator fees, in waste diversion, and in earned income for the recyclables.

“In the Borough of Westville, trash disposal is $ 85.00/ton. We receive $ 0.10/pound of clothing/textiles that are recycled which . equates to a $ 105.00/ton savings, as well as wasted dollars on burning the textiles,” Domico stated.” In the Borough of Brooklawn, trash disposal is $ 65.00/ton and with the receipt of $ 0.10/pound of clothing that are recycled, that equates to a $ 135.00/ton savings. “It will save space in landfills as well as save wasted dollars on burning the clothes. It will also help us with our tonnage grants which is (required) by the NJDEP,” Domico further said.

“Pulling clothes, shoes, bags and belts that are perfectly reusable from the waste stream and putting them in the hands of those that cannot afford brand new is an easy way to reduce waste, increase diversion and be green,” said Lisa Pomerantz, VP of Marketing and Business Development. “It’s impressive to see small towns like these, the first in the entire state of NJ, to offer a curbside collection and to celebrate the cause of clothing recycling with reuse as the central feature. It’s truly People Recycling for People!”

Community Recycling is also announcing a brand new era in clothing and textile recycling with a solution that fits the lifestyle of millions across the US, where curbside pickup is just not an option for numerous reasons. CR Home makes clothing and related textile recycling as easy as boxing things up and leaving them on the doorstep for your postal worker. Utilizing the existing infrastructure of the postal service, anyone in the US can participate in this rewarding recycling experience. CR Home recyclers will learn where the clothing is sent for resale and reuse, as well as the personal environmental impact they have by choosing to join the Reuse Movement.

“CR Home encompasses transparency, connectivity and humanity. We want people to know and understand where their clothes go in an effort to make the world a smaller, friendlier and greener place,” Pomerantz continued.

CR Home is also working with some big retailers to make the fashion industry greener and more sustainable. Original Penguin is the first to jump on the bandwagon and involve their consumers to be a part of the solution.

Community Recycling is proud to be a for-profit recycler of clothing with a focus on reuse. They are a company that does well by doing good, bringing the industry such innovative recycling programs as CR Kids, CR Campus, and ShoeBox Recycling. They recognize that people everywhere are looking for easier ways to do the responsible green thing without having the hassle and legwork. Community Recycling takes on all of the work, logistics and foots the bill for shipping. They literally connect the dots between all the extra things no longer needed or used in a household, and the people here in the US and around the world that depend on second-hand items in an affordable way.

In the latest report from the EPA, Facts and Figures for the 2011 Municipal Solid Waste, clothing recycling shows an equivalent impact of removing one (1) million cars from the nation’s roads. That is more than five (5) times the impact of recycled yard trimmings, more than four (4) times the impact of glass recycling, more than plastics recycling and nearly the same impact as recycling aluminum.

CR Home is designed to empower and engage the population who has yet to jump on the reuse bandwagon with convenience and comforts of home.

No matter how you get there, Community Recycling hopes you all make the eco-friendly choice to join the Reuse Movement keep landfills hungry while supporting the ongoing mission of People Recycling for People. Currently, Community Recycling diverts between 2-3 million pounds of clothing each week for reuse. That amounts to well over 100 million pounds per year for the good of the environment and the people who make up communities around the world.

Her adorable little maltipoo, Tinks was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease. Not responding to treatment and with only moments to spare in Tinks’ life, a veterinary specialist was able to save Tinks! Because of this, Karen made it her mission to increase pet owner awareness of all the options available in veterinary care, specifically veterinary specialty medicine. Bostick began sharing Tinks’ Story through her blog and on social media in early 2013. Pet lovers from all over the world were quickly attracted to Karen’s mission and Tinks’ survivor story resonated with them. Their social media followers grew at a rapid pace, amassing over 500,000 Facebook likes in less than one year. Bostick realized this was just the opportunity she was looking for to get the message out to other pet owners about her mission and the idea for PetsPage.com was born!
